Kano–Katsina–Maradi Rail Project Reaches 60% Completion, Set for 2027 Delivery – FG
The Federal Government has confirmed that construction of the Kano–Katsina–Maradi railway line has reached approximately 60 percent completion, with full delivery now projected for December 2027.
The update was given by Ali Bukar, a resident engineer with the Federal Ministry of Transportation, during an inspection tour of project sites in Jigawa State by members of the Presidential Media Team.
According to Bukar, work has progressed steadily along the project’s two major corridors, with the Kano–Dutse axis currently recording the most intensified construction activity.
He noted that key engineering works are well underway, including bridge construction across waterways and challenging terrain. Foundation stages such as piling and substructure development are at advanced levels, while superstructure installation is ongoing at several locations along the route.
