LASPA Moves Against Illegal Parking in Apapa, Tows Offending Vehicles

The Lagos State Parking Authority has ramped up enforcement on Akintoye Road, near Ajeromi General Hospital in Apapa, targeting motorists who continue to flout parking regulations despite a sustained public sensitisation drive.

General Manager Adebisi Adelabu said the clampdown focused on vehicles parked in clearly marked no-parking zones. The operation followed the installation of road signs along the corridor and weeks of public enlightenment, which she said proved insufficient to deter violators. "Where necessary, vehicles were towed," Adelabu stated, adding that the exercise was carried out professionally and without any breach of public order.

Adelabu also disclosed that one of the newly mounted 'No Parking' signs had been removed, and warned that anyone caught vandalising or stealing public infrastructure would be prosecuted.

She urged motorists to park only in designated facilities, obey traffic signage, and cooperate with enforcement officers to keep the state's roads flowing freely.
