United Nigeria Flight Attendant Earns Praise for Composure During Confrontation

A United Nigeria Airlines cabin crew member is receiving public recognition after a passenger described how she calmly handled a tense situation onboard.

Dr. Everest Okpara, who witnessed the incident, said Miss Uchechukwu Francisca Ogbuagu was confronted by a passenger who became “extremely rude and unruly” after being asked to comply with aviation rules.

“Despite how provocative the encounter was, she stayed remarkably calm and composed,” Okpara said. “She kept a respectful tone, showed great restraint, and handled herself with a level of professionalism and courtesy that impressed those of us seated nearby.”

He added that Ogbuagu never lost sight of her duties to the passenger and the airline, and she did not allow the passenger’s behaviour to lower the quality of her service.

“Her communication was measured, she remained courteous throughout, and the way she managed the situation showed impressive emotional intelligence, self-control, and maturity,” Okpara said.
