ValueJet Expands Regional Footprint with Lagos–Accra Route

Nigerian carrier ValueJet has announced the launch of daily flights between Lagos and Accra, marking its second regional route and reinforcing its ambition to become a key player in West African aviation.

The inaugural service is scheduled for March, operating from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Kotoka International Airport in Accra. The route is one of West Africa’s busiest travel corridors, driven by strong demand for business, trade, and leisure travel between Nigeria and Ghana.

ValueJet’s Managing Director, Omololu Majekodunmi, described the expansion as a strategic milestone. “This route extends our footprint beyond Nigeria while strengthening ties between two of the region’s most dynamic economies,” he said.

To support the new service, the airline has bolstered its fleet with CRJ‑1000 aircraft, which offer improved efficiency for both regional and domestic operations. ValueJet is also betting on competitive fares and targeted promotions to attract passengers in a market marked by intensifying competition and rising traveler expectations.

The airline said it is working closely with Ghana Airports Company Limited to ensure a reliable and streamlined travel experience. Industry observers note that the Lagos–Accra connection is expected to stimulate tourism, facilitate cross‑border trade, and enhance economic collaboration between the two countries.

With the countdown to the inaugural flight underway, ValueJet positions the new route as a strategic bridge linking people, markets, and opportunities across West Africa.
